Chicago is known as the Windy City. The nickname refers both to our windy weather and Chicago politicians filled with ‘hot air’. In both definitions, the Windy City name has been earned because the wind has profoundly shaped who Chicago has become.
Jesus likens the Holy Spirit to the wind—uncontrollable, powerful, beautiful and unpredictable. The Spirit, when he blows, has a profound impact on our life, families and churches. It can change the very landscape of our existence. Sadly, many Christians seek to live the Jesus life without the very wind that makes it possible.
Join us this Sunday at Calvary as we learn about the Spirit, his activity and how we can experience more of his power. Join us as we seek to become a windy church.
