Kim Billings

I spent many years escaping the reality of life as problems, trials and challenges mounted up. I got lost traveling dusty crooked roads that led to the valley of denial, despair and fear. Throughout those painful experiences God never left me. Rather it was me that left him. Much like the prodigal, it was time to come home. In September of 2010 I decided to recommit my life to Christ and was baptized. In April of 2012 I joined the Wheaton Bible Celebrate Recovery Ministry and became part of the leadership team to do life and recovery with other bruised and broken souls. Today I continue to serve there as we transition to a new recovery program called “Regeneration”.
The journey has been long but not yet done. Much more is still being written which leads me to coming to Calvary Church. In November, 2017 I was invited by my sister Claudia and her husband David Looyenga to join them at the 9a service. That one visit has turned into regular weekly Sunday visits and the start of a family connect group. This family circle of love has expanded to others who join hands with us to dive deeper into God’s word to learn and grow and mature in our faith walk. Calvary Church has been a life-giving place filled with warmth, friendly faces and goodness that has reignited my soul. I am a grateful, imperfect, beloved child of God who says I am precious in his sight and I believe it.
I reside in Clarendon Hills, am self-employed and have a daughter named Nikki. I love to read, play games, listen to music, travel, cook and spend quality time with family and friends.

Nate and Becca Hendrikse

Nate and Becca are excited to be meeting with their awesome connect group again this year. They have been part of the group for almost 3 years and attribute it to helping them build up a community of friends at Calvary. Becca is a NICU nurse at Advocate Christ Hospital and Nate has his own business helping small businesses run as profitably as possible. They live in Tinley Park and have one dog, a Doberman named Willie. They enjoy sports, hiking, traveling, and being around friends as much as possible.

George and Mary Van Dahm

I’m Mary Van Dahm, wife of George Van Dahm and Calvary Church member for 53 years. George and I have three grown children, are currently sponsors for Carlos Peña, a student from the Dominican Republic, and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren. Bible study is a crucial element in my spiritual growth so I look for those that help me dig, discover, apply and build relationships. Connect Groups at Calvary Church provide all these things and I highly recommend them. I’ll be leading a group of “mature” women who have been meeting for nearly three years. We are eager to expand and welcome new ladies, especially those who are new to Calvary Church and seeking meaningful friendships as well as spiritual growth. We meet at church at 11:15 on Wednesday mornings following Coffee Break.
