ALL IN is a five-week small-group experience for people interested in becoming a member at Calvary. Calvary’s membership might be different from other churches you have been a part of in the past. Often membership is just functional–a requirement for baptism, or to profess your faith, or to have a child admitted to a Christian school or maybe just something you think you are expected to do.
We wanted to recapture some of the original purpose of membership in the church. In the early church, if you wanted to join a local congregation you had to go through a rigorous catechism of learning and training that lasted for months before you could officially call yourself a Christian. Though our membership experience is quite a bit easier (and more fun!) than what those early Christians experienced, we do see joining Calvary as a serious decision. It is a decision to publicly commit to being a disciple.
A disciple is someone who is learning to live the life that Jesus lived (1 John 2:6). He or she is a person who really wants all that Jesus has for them. By no means are Calvary members perfect but we look at Jesus, see him as the smartest person in the cosmos, and really want to follow him because he is the LORD.
Everything we do at Calvary is designed to help you grow as a disciple. We want you to experience the abundant life that Jesus says is available to his followers. If you want to join an amazing community of believers, grow in your faith as a disciple and help others do the same, ALL IN is your next step. You will meet new people, learn about our vision and mission, and be encouraged to take your next step in discipleship.
